Macadamtia is a kind of crop plant which is particularly selective about climate and soil. Cur rently, the plant is cultivated mainly in Australia, Hawaii (the U.S.), South Africa and China, where the ecological conditions are suitable for macadamia tree's optimum growth. Macadamia was brought into Vietnam for cultivation about 15 years ago. However, it was not until 2015 that the plant became popular and selected by Vietnamese growers. The Central Highlands of Vietnam is one of the world's rare places which is suitable for maca damia to grow. Thanks to preferential natural conditions including the typical fertile basaltic soil and temperate weather all year round, the Central Highlands can produce macadamia nuts with high quality.
